Kinyon Lanier and the Family & Friends Gospel Choir
|
Kinyon Lanier was a co-founder of the gospel supergroup Tony Moore & Jehovah's Chosen. TMJC toured the Gospel festival circuit extensively throughout North America in the late 90’s. The individual members of the band have gone on to comprise the some of the top international touring and studio musicians for top 40, Gospel, and R&B over the past 15 years. Mr. Lanier also assembled the choir and was choir director for Jeff Bradshaw’s sold out celebration at The Kimmell Center in 2014 in Philadelphia, providing the backdrop for Mr. Bradshaw, Bilal, multi-Grammy nominee Eric Roberson, and other all-star performers that evening.
In addition to his own Funk band, MY FUNKY BRETHREN, Kinyon was also a co-lead singer in Jim Stephens all star Full Tilt Boogie Band, which includes Chuck Treece, Elliott Levin, Rah Sungee and others of accolade. This band of brothers has went on to perform at Philadelphia's hottest venues including the Milk Boy, the North Star, the Legendary Dobbs and World Live Cafe. This band encompassed funk and flavor thru its unique sound with a full horn section and throbbing percussions. Kinyon was also the musical director of the 2019 PA Democratic Independence Dinner with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Governor Tom Wolf. Kinyon has also worked with super producers Anthony Bell, Junius Bervine, and Andre (Dre) Harris." |
